ESRS Congress in Aberdeen

In the framework of the RegPol2 project, Geomedia employee Bianka Plüschke-Altof participated in the 26th European Society for Rural Sociology Congress, which took place from August 18. – 21. 2015 in Aberdeen, Scotland. The congress was held under the title “Places of Possibility? Rural Societies in a Neoliberal World” and offered lectures, symposiums, panel discussions and field trips in order to discuss the challenges rural Europe faces today as well as ways of dealing with them. In 26 working groups, evidences and approaches to understanding the relationships between society and space under the conditions of neoliberalism were explored. As a doctoral student, Bianka Plüschke-Altof introduced the conceptual framework of her PhD project in Working Group 7, which focused on “Visions of the Rural: A new subordination?” For more information, see:  http://www.esrs2015.eu/
