07.12.2022
The Estonian village movement Kodukant conducts amalgamation reform seminars in the Estonian counties. It is important that the discussion on the municipalities’ future does not only stay at the local government and municipality council level, but that village and community representatives would also participate. Under the leadership of Kodukant Harjumaa, the role of villages in municipalities was discussed on the 22nd of October 2016 in Kiisa leisure centre. The presentations and speeches focused on the development of the amalgamation reform, the gained experiences and potential behavioral models of the communities. The presentation by Geomedia consultant Rivo Noorkõiv focused on the premises, possibilities and practices of participation in decision-making processes concerning questions of local life arrangements.
