Ahja parish council discussed the amalgamation of local governments

At the reading of Ahja parish council on 17^th September 2014, the amalgamation of the local government was part of the agenda. Part of the discussion is the Estonian Ministry’s of Interior advisory program, which is directed to support the voluntary amalgamation of local governments. At the meeting, Geomedia consultant Rivo Noorkõiv presented on the topic of “Local Governments’ amalgamation”. The position of Ahja local municipality, which induced a lively discussion. Alltogether, 53 local government units in different regions of Estonia wanted to participate in the consulting meetings organized by Ministry of Interior.
