Local Government Amalgamation Negotiations

Geomedia's employees are involved in local government amalgamation negotiation cooperation, providing both consultancy and research. The work is currently going on with the amalgamation regions in Järva, Lääne and Valga county. In the framework of the amalgamation talks, in addition to the preparation and hosting of negotiations, several background analyses have been prepared in the the field of finances, social care and education. Also, in cooperation with partners the results of earlier amalgamations have been analysed and on the basis of that, proposals for the local government reform have been made. At present, the model of local communities' involvement through village elders is explored for the time of the reform and also for the time after it.
