RegPol² Training in Germany

Within the framework of the RegPol² project a training focusing on research methods and methodology took place from 18th to 21st of May 2015 in Leipzig. The meeting included lectures on regional development in Central and Eastern Europe. Moreover, in the field of spatial development, research methodology and methods were discussed. The participants had the opportunity to solve different tasks through group work and conduct independent exercises in order to obtain theoretical knowledge and practical experiences for conducting research on regional development. At the training participants were also acquainted with the district developments in Leipzig. The meeting was organized by the project coordinator, the Leibniz-Institut für Länderkunde, which is a leading institution on the field of spatial planning in Germany. On behalf of Geomedia, Bianka Plüschke and Rivo Noorkõiv took part in the training program. The RegPol² project is financed by the Marie Curie fund, which focuses on the training of young researchers. The central research focus of the RegPol² project are peripheralization processes. Within the PhD program, two guest researchers will be based at Geomedia in autumn 2015.
