Town and Parish Days 2014

The local governments’ annual event took place on March, 26-27 2014. This year we celebrated the 10^th anniversary of the “Town and Parish Day”. Open seminars, topical introductions and discussion on very different fields were part of the programme. For the local governments’ officials it was a great opportunity to meet national civil servants and politicians, exchange knowledge with their colleagues and listen to specialists’ activities. Geomedia’s representative moderated in the framework of the environment forum, which was dedicated to finding balance between environmental and financial objectives. Topic was the part of an ecological tax reform, where different economic sectors are united to accommodate the need for an environmentally friendly economic management. Likewise, an overview of the European Union’s cohesion politic’s funds for Estonia’s development plans in the years 2014-2020 was given, which also took the funding for environmental projects into account.
