Vision Conference in Võru

On the 14th of March 2017 the Vision Conference entitled “Let’s add some momentum to the wheels” (Annami tsõõrilõ vunki mano) took place in the Võru cultural center Kannel. The conference included plenary presentations and workshops. One of the workshops focusing on the question “How to breathe new life into the heritage conservation areas of Võru old town” was moderated by Geomedia consultant Rivo Noorkõiv. Võru old town’s heritage conservation area consists of the historical city center situated between Tamula lake and Koreli stream, which was built in 1785 according to the general plan. The workshop concentrated on finding solutions to two central topics: a) which role could Võru old town take in the city vision, b) what should be undertaken for Võru old town to be a place of living, working and leisure that is multi-functional and characterized by a valuable milieu? The results of the discussion will be incorporated into the new development plan for Võru town.
